after checking the weather report for that area, i brought my knee hi rubber boots, which were very handy, and a tent heater. tho several folks stated we were going to die in our tents from the heater, they too were in the tent keeping warm. we were careful to pick a good quaility heater and left one of the windows in the tent cracked just incase it did leak, which it did not. our air bed is also the kind that has legs so our bed was off the ground and was dry. some folks had a wet bed. i also bought a shower tent. i am glad i did.. i heard there was a 3 minute shower sign on the shower truck and 3 minutes isn't long enough to was my hair and me.

Greetings
I have never made it to an Uprising....but next year My good husband and I WILL be attending. After listening to the talk and seeing some pictures I have been updating my packing list to include things like...
Extra Tarps
Muck Boots
Umbrellas ( covered in a lovely period fabric )
Extra Tarps
Plastic sheeting to go under the floor tarp
Weather radio
Extra Tarps
Are there any other suggestions from Uprising veterans?

Less rain ... hmn ... be careful what you wish for. The intermountain west
... even with the welcome damp spring ... is in hydrologic drought. Less
rain means more fire. More fire means those of us who are Wildland Fire
Fighters don't get to play. In case those of you who were looking for me at
Uprising... I was at Wild Land Firefighter School. I have been working as a
Wild Land Firefighter for the last four years ... and please allow me to say
that a little less rain would be welcome... a little more rain would allow
for green fields for more Uprisings. Besides... what would it be like to
go to Uprising without rain? Becha you would miss it! (ever read "A Fine
and Pleasant Misery'?).
