And, since I got beat to the punch on providing the link, I will point 
out that Marquis/Marquessa are *not* on the alternate title list.  And, 
thus, not recognized by the SCA (or to be snooty, not recognized by 'the 
heralds', who coincidentally are the ones that get to decide that titles 
are recognized or not).
