[Artemisia] Malkin's Surgery

It is with EXTREMELY mixed feelings that I announce the date for the first 
of the knee reconstruction surgeries has arrived.  Tomorrow ... Tuesday, 
October 12th ... is the pre-surgery consultation.  The actual surgery is 
scheduled for four hours on Wednesday, the 13th.

The procedure will involve replacing the ACL, MCL, and PCL with donor tissue 
and re-contouring as much of the meniscus as possible.  For the layperson... 
that is all but one of the stringy bits that hold  together the very complex 
machine that is the human knee.

Anyone in the vicinity of Salt Lake City Utah this week is invited to come 
see me at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital.  I should be there 
from Wednesday until Friday.
