[Artemisia] malkins surgery update

All I can say is ditto what Maire said. I'm that friend who had both knees
replaced, and I'm 52. There's someone else on this list who has had
multiple knee surgeries and I sure don't remember her having any pre-surgery
PT. The pre-surgery PT that I went through had *nothing* to do with my
knee. It was to be sure that I had enough upper body strength to function
with *both* knees being cut on. Too old at 40??!! That's bulls.... opps!
And so what if the x-rays are old. Take new ones!! That's what they did
with me on my pre-surgery day!! X-rays can determine if your knee can be
reconstructed or if the arthritis is too advanced. Mind you, living with a
damaged joint for a long period of time greatly increases the chance of
arthritis in that joint. So the longer you wait, the worse it may become.
