Fort Buena Ventura is near the freeway and in Ogden (not downtown) but is a lovely large park, with a LAKE, no less! Bring suncreen, and especially bug spray. WITH DEET. Mosquito abatement is still in full swing, but human-contracted West Nile virus has been confirmed in an adjoining county, and a fatal case of nonhuman-contracted West Nile has been confirmed in a horse about 1/2 hour away from the area. No human cases have been reported (even possible cases) in the county where the event is being held, but lets not take any chances.
 
There is grass and shade, but sunshades are never a bad idea. If you forget anything, there are stores close by.
 
This site has been used by the soon-to-be-former Shire through out the years and is a lovely site. This particular event, that is to say, the very first Premier Baronial Investiture this Kingdom has seen, looks to be epic.
