As Mary Poppins and my grandmother used to say "a lady is as a lady  does".  
 
I strove to be a "lady" long before I knew there was an SCA and  still 
consider that to be a work in progress.  To be able to tack  the  word "lady" onto 
my SCA name mere shows that others recognized that I have  succeeded in some of 
that work.  
 
If I am ever allowed to tack other titles onto that name, it will  be nice 
and again show that others recognize forward achievement of the work in  
progress. But none will ever mean more to me than the inner title of lady which  I 
will continue to strive to achieve from now until the day I retire it  forever.
