The costuming, armor and weaponry were all pretty good, especially compared
against many of the other horrors Hollywood has inflicted on us when it comes
to "historical" movies. I thought the romance was flat out dumb, as was the
character of Sabella. They were working way too hard to make her "exotic" and
"spunky and independent." I would have been much more impressed with a
dignified princess/queen who was more historically accurate. But hey, that's
usually just me. ;) I did like Balin though, and not just because he's played
by the painfully pretty Orlando Bloom. I'd definitely tell people to go see
this movie. It's one of the better ones.
