Greetings,

The other Gryphon group you might have been thinking of that is adjacent to 
Artemisia is the Prinipality of the Summits (theirs is White)

The An Tir badge used to be a lions head facing forward

It does bare a bit of a resemblence to the Black Gryphon head on a yellow 
field, but not too much (of course I'm not a herald so what do I know?)
