[Artemisia] Wood Burning?

  I ran across a photo of a tool I guessed was used for wood burning some time ago, made it and tried it.  It worked alright and if you would like, you may have it.  The photo was in a book that was loaned to me, I'm not sure I even remember which one......  I don't make many events any more, but perhaps I can find a way to get it there.

I am trying to find period information on Pyrography, or decorating with wood burning.
I have found a vague reference to a pottery piece decorated with wood burning in the 8th C, but all others have been Victorian.

Any ideas, Artemisia?
