Greetings Artemisia!
Hopefully by now most of you have gotten your Sage and have seen that this
years Collegium and Equestrian Championship is going to be held in the
Barony of Arnhold AND that I just can't get rid of that darn HELIUM hand
disease. So I thought, if I can't get rid of it, I'll see if I can
SHARE/SPREAD it.
I am *DESPERATELY* needing teachers, I have at this point in time, two(2),
yes 2, teachers signed up. I just know there are MORE teachers out there
that WANT to SHARE and SPREAD their knowledge so, Please, PLEASE help your
Kingdom learn and teach a class, or two, or three would be REALLY nice.
I have spots open from Friday after 6pm through Sunday 12 noon. This is a
site, weather cooperating, that we can make BIG messes or smelly stuff like
leather boiling! Metal working, dyes, even SHEEP SHEARING! Yes, we have
facilities for small animals too if someone would like to bring goats,
chickens, rabbits, etc, etc, for a demo, it is a Fair Grounds Facility and
we have full access.
So please teachers, Email to me the following information as soon as
possible so I can get a class list printed in the Sage:
1. Name, both SCA and Mundane(for credits):
2. Class Name:
3. Brief description:
4. Size limit and/or Costs?:
5. Facilities needed (I.E. indoor, out door, tables, pens for animals,
FIRE area, etc.):
6. What time & day you would prefer to teach:
EQUESTRIANS ARE YOU READY??? His Grace Reinmar is the current Kingdom
Equestrian Champion and I have heard promises of an interesting challenge
course! I am also in need of Equestrian Classes, both with equines and
without. Please see above for information needed.
Also Equestrians...
*BIG IMPORTANT LAST MINUTE INFO ON VACCINATIONS:*
* *
Please be sure your vaccination paperwork is in order. If you have not
already sent in copies, PLEASE DO SO NOW. If you do not send them in and do
not have proof of current vaccinations with you upon arrival, you will not
be allowed to unload. Sorry, it's the rules. I've also heard from 4, yes
FOUR different ranches here in the Boise, Nampa, Caldwell and even Kuna area
(Idaho) that Strangles is running Amuck. It hit the ranch I board at
too, SO THIS IS YOUR WARNING your horse could be exposed, not to mention the
weekend prior the Fair will have just wound down and every stall will have
JUST had a horse in it.
If you have not vaccinated for Strangles, I STRONGLY SUGGEST you do it *NOW*as
*Elmore County Fair Grounds is now asking all horses entering the facility
be FULLY vaccinated & de-wormed(within at least three months), specifying in
that request Strangles.* This because of the large number of other horses
boarding there. Sorry to add it to the list at the last minute, but you
still have time, a little over three full weeks, if you get it taken care of
*NOW*.
***So I repeat, on top of our SCA Equine vaccination requirements, ECFG is
requiring proof of Strangles and Deworming prior to unloading, no proof, no
unloading. Again, sorry, it's the rules.***
And just an FYI, proof CAN BE in the form of an itemized sales receipt and
the package it came in or card that came with it,(copies will work too) with
the date given and horse name on the back for those of you
do-it-yourself-ers. J
Please remember stalls are $15 for the weekend, plus a $5 bedding charge. I'd
suggest bringing extra shavings or buy more for your horses comfort as the
stalls are large. If you bring straw for bedding, you will need to be
especially thorough in your clean up as it is noticed more easily and could
end up with a cleaning fee.
Thanks everyone!
