Estrella...moving? This came from an Outlands list...
This week, the July 2006 Southwind arrived in mailboxes, and the following
three paragraphs appeared as part of the missive TRM Craven and Mary Rose,
King and Queen of Atenveldt, published to Their populace:
"In recent weeks we know that many members of Our populace
have heard rumors about Estrella War moving to a new site. We
want to let you know that this rumor is indeed true. At this time,
the Kingdom of Atenveldt has an agreement with the owners of
Canyon Moon Ranch to host Estrella War XXIII. We are now in
the process of negotiating all the details of the contract.
Canyon Moon Ranch is the site that currently hosts Country
Thunder and is located just outside Florence, Arizona.
It is not Our intention to keep Our populace in the dark.
However, we must complete contract negotiations before we
can divulge the details that led to the decision to move the war.
Please understand that it is with Heavy Heart that We leave
Estrella Mountain Park, and that this decision was not taken
lightly. We have consulted with the War Autocrats, and the
Kingdom Financial Committee, and have their agreement that
this decision is in the best interest of the Kingdom of Atenveldt
and the Estrella War."
The fastest way to get a an idea of the new site, and the
organization that owns it and runs it, is to look at the FLORENCE section of
the Country Thunder website:
http://www.countrythunder.com/ct_2003/splash.html To see where the site is,
use a Yahoo Maps or MAP Quest for the following physical address: 20585 E
Price Station Rd, Florence, AZ 85232-9479
Looks to be another 90 miles of driving, and ~70 miles from Sky Harbor Arpt.
