[Artemisia] Finally home, but sad

Greetings!

Well, I made it home finally - my four hour layover in Denver turned 
into eight! - but it is with sad news.

My father died about 4:00 am Eastern Time Saturday, March 18, 2006. He 
was in a coma for most of the previous 24 hours, but he died peacefully 
with me, my sister and mother all present - the entire family. He was 
still lucid enough to realize I was there on Wednesday evening and 
Thursday morning, but he rapidly slid downhill after that. There was no 
funeral - he and mother have both willed their bodies to science - and 
only a private service (which was pretty much what we were doing shortly 
before and after he actually died - honoring him in our own way) so I 
flew home as scheduled Monday.

I will be taking a couple more days leave from work to try and get 
myself pulled together. For one thing, I need a lot of sleep to catch up 
on what I have missed the past five or six days.

I do thank all of you for the kind thoughts and words, and would ask 
that any further messages be sent privately and not through the lists 
that this is going out on.

I'll turn my lists back on, probably tomorrow.
