The long-armed cross stitch was used in several different cultures during
the SCA period. Students will gain mastery of the stitch and begin work on
a small embroidered piece.

Kit available for $3, which includes patterns, instructions, background
fabric, cotton floss and a needle.

Or students may bring their own even-weave fabric (linen or Aida cloth),
cotton embroidery floss and a needle and purchase the handouts for 50¢.

All students should bring an embroidery hoop and small sharp scissors.

3pm - 4pm Lady Anna de Brabant
/*The Nun Stitch */

The nun stitch, both decorative and utilitarian, is used to secure the edges
of an embroidered piece before fringing. It is a great way to finish
napkins, tablecloths, towels, basket covers, etc.

Students may bring their own piece of linen, embroidery floss or perle
cotton (size 8 or 12) and a needle, or pay a $2 fee for materials.

All students should bring small sharp scissors; an embroidery hoop is
optional.
