Pulled up on trip maker, running the interstate all the way from missoula to glenns ferry comes up = 520 miles; taking US-93, st-75 (thru stanley & ketchum), US-26, I-84 = 420; US-93, US-20, US-26, I-84 =404. There is road construction on US-20
outside of Arco with delays (down to one lane) (ref. idaho road report web site). fuel/gas will probably be cheaper on interstate route, but the other ways are more scenic. It just depends on how much time you have as to which way you want to go. Have a great time and a safe trip. (Have personally driven all of the above routes in 4-wheeler as well as 18-wheeler.)

Hi Yaasamiina,
Gerlach & I were just wondering the best route to come down. From what I understand, the site is about 1 hour east of Boise. Do you think it would be better to go down through Couer d'lane; go south of Missoula through Salmon; or go down to Butte and come in from the Idaho Falls side?
We haven't been down that way so we're not sure. Also, about how long does it take to drive it. We were thinking of going to the wine tasting if we get there early enough to set up camp. Are you going to it?
Anyway, let me know
Thanks
Alexander
