You know, another thing that helps is to get some kind of roller mechanism to flatten the straws before putting the tent or tarp down. My dad used some kind of barrel thingy on a rope, filled with water, that he dragged over the ground when we went camping as kids. It flattened everything. Just a thought.

I always use a ground tarp, now it looks like I have a reason to get the
Heavy Duty one I have been thinking about anyway.<G>
