The Feast of Fools
Nov 11th, 2006
Barony of Arn Hold
Welcome all to the Feast of Fools! Feasting, frolicking and foolishness are favoured on this fantastic day. We invite you to join us, to be a fool soon parted with your money in a game of graciousness, to fear not to learn in our array of classes, to fight in a tournament for the prize and not least of all, to feast with us in the firelight. Dont be fashionable in your best garb; come in your most fun, foolish and foppish of garb!
The Barony of Arn Hold is well known for its scholars, artists, fighters and, lest we forget, its cooks (who are all of the before mentioned when in their kitchen!). Classes will be offered in all seven colleges for those of you looking to complete your Trivium or Quadrivium degrees.
Tis better to be a fool amongst fools then a fool alone. Therefore we will feature some fantastic "themed" tournaments for the Rapier combatants, our Heavy Fighters, Equestrians and Archers! Warriors be ye prepared for just about anything, including a fanciful prize and a fun and farcical tournament. Rapier and Heavy fighters, bring your usual equipment.
The fabulous Lady Dainya will be preparing a luncheon for all (included in site fee) and a feast only for those firm of mind enough to reserve a spot by Friday, November 3rd. Email your reservation to dainya (at) moonhillcraft.com. There may (or may not) be reservations available the day of the event.
The luncheon will consist of a hearty (beef) soup, a vegetarian soup, mini loaves of bread, cheese, nuts and dried fruits. (I am thinking the last three are more personality types than foods). Bad joke, I know. But this is what the day is for: Foolery!
The evening feast will consist of two meat dishes, mushroom pastries, two veggie dishes, breads, nuts, cheeses and a fabulous dessert of a castle cake with walls of tarts! There will be space available for off-board feasting.
Site located at the All Saints Episcopal Church on 704 S Latah (corner of Cassia and Latah) in Boise, ID. Make your best way to Overland Rd and Latah (parallel and between Vista and Orchard). Go North on Latah until you reach the light at Cassia. The church is located on the North-East corner. Site opens at 9 am and closes at 10 pm.
