[Artemisia] Regarding Ant Control

Back in the south we used a lot of mint to help control the fire ants as well as other bugs. They don't like it very much. I wouldn't suggest bringing live plants since they can go crazy if in the wild, or pouring mint oil on the ground around your pavilion either but it shouldn't hurt to put it on top of your ground cover inside of your pavilion. Hopefully the land owner will have some good suggestions.

  Fire ants could be an issue.  Other types might not be as bad...  (not as
  aggressive, or carrying as toxic a venom)

  And along the lines of no chemical insect control - that wouldn't include
  personal insect repellant, would it?  As in for mosquitoes?
