Greetings,
Thank You, Excellency for your reminder. The Book of the Courtier is in
my listing of primary texts to review. I do have a hard copy but am very
pleased to see that there is a Net Copy to review. Thank you for the link.
At the moment the Project stands here, Section One of Seven. (Black)
Review the Tudor monarchy and the forces that brought it to power.
Why was the English monarchy different than other European Monarchies?
Determine the different families ruling each country from about 1483 to
1603. Know who lived in the period. (Begin Genealogical Database)
How was France different in Structure than Spain, the Netherlands,
Scotland, and Ireland?
(Begin Structural Database)
What forces brought the Tudor Family to the throne and what did they do
to it prior to Elizabeth's Accession?
Many scholars consider Henry VII's influence in Elizabeth's life, but
what about her other grandfather, the very successful Edward IV?
Is the Arthurian Connection a Tudor fantasy or does it have roots in the
Wars of the Roses and earlier than that?
What happened to the Previous Royal House’s pretenders to the Throne?
See also the Irish devotion to the House of York., Lambert Simnel,
Perkin Warbeck.
Review the Ceremonies associated with the Death of Queen Mary, King
Edward, and King Henry... Was there a difference in the way that each
monarch's death affected the state?
M. J. Stone states that the will of Mary Tudor was ignored by Elizabeth,
but is that true?
Since Elizabeth's (and Mary’s) Court had ambassadors from the Tsar of
Russia, the Turkish Emirs, and contacts in Africa, what dimensions can
one draw to enclose the world of period Politics? Too little misses
much, too wide is hard to conquer.
Any Ideas out there?
Thank you for any assistance that you can render,
In Service,
Maeve Mac
