At Gryphon's Lair Collegium /Arts and Sciences event, I will be teaching a 'kids' class:
Subject: How to make a drop spindle
Duration: 1 hour
Description: The drop spindle is a tool used for spinning wool (or other fibers) into 'thread', which can then be woven into fabric. In this class we will learn how to make a drop spindle and 'decorate' it.
Cost: There is no extra charge for this class, It is NOT part of the babysitting endeavor listed below.
Class limit: up to 12 youth / persons age 5 -17.
Adults are welcome to come and learn how to make a spindle, however provision of 'free' supplies
is limited to youth.
Other information: We will be using glue, acrylic paint and/or permanent markers, none of which are easy to remove from clothing. Parents: please keep this in mind as you dress your youth for this activity.
For those participating in the Artemisia Youth Program, this activity qualifies for one of the following:
Cupbearer - Scholarship #3
Cupbearer - Arts and Sciences #1
Page - Topaz #6
Also note, Morgan's class listed below will prepare or qualify you for one or more of the following:
Cupbearer - Chivalry #1
Cupbearer - Chivalry #4
Page - Chivalry # 6
In service
