Go to any kingdom and you can hear this debate. The
one somewhat valid argument you sometimes hear relates
to the BOD's activities(what people percieve they do
or don't do, what they should do or what they
shouldn't do.)
Other memberships:
USBC (Bowling) $18.50 (plus $18/week for 32 weeks)
NAA (Archery) $50 (plus events that cost more than
SCA events for a single year.)
BSA (Boy Scouts) I can't remember but it's more than
the SCA. Training like Woodbadge
costs like $175. That's a whole lot
of SCA events.
$35 Membership and site fees is still a good deal.
This probably wouldn't be a problem if it would have
been enforced long ago. It went too long before the
change was made and it's going to take just as long
and much more effort to change the mindset.
