Everybody thanks for the ideas!

I've already attempted to take PlaySkol toys and adapt
them to look more period.  I've done a walker and some
push toys as my boy is more fasinated with anything
with wheels.  The problem is what I've done looks more
like Leonardo got in a time machine and spent the
afternoon at Toys-R-Us.  OUCH!
