[Artemisia] Time for a Quest

Attention ALL unbelted fighters!!!!!!

and, to the great Knights of our wonderous lands of Artemisia, please, I 
would ask you to encourage any unbelted fighter to enter that you feel would 
benefit from this quest.


Baroness’ Champion for Nisa, Baroness of Loch Salann.

At the zenith of Chivalry in the Middle Ages a gentleman of cote armor was 
expected to be accomplished in a variety of subjects beyond the martial 
pursuits.  So too in our Society, those who aspire to join the ranks of the 
Chivalry are expected to display an understanding of the Courtly Graces.

To encourage and recognize such skills within the unbelted fighters of our 
Kingdom Baroness Qamar an-Nisa al-Anatolia, 10th Baroness of Loch Salann 
does issue forth a quest to determine the next Baroness’ Champion of Loch 
Salann.

This quest, and the title of Baroness’ Champion will be open to all unbelted 
fighters throughout the Kingdom of Artemisia.  The tasks involved with this 
quest must be completed no later than the Combined Arts & Sciences Collegium 
to be held October 6th in the Barony of Loch Salann.  The next Champion for 
our Baroness will be announced at Solstice Court.

In order to be considered for the title of Baroness Champion, each candidate 
must complete all of the tasks listed in the quest.  To be sure, this list 
is ambitious.  But, these tasks are certainly attainable.

Anyone who wishes to compete for Baroness’ Champion need simply be presented 
before Her Excellency by a current of former landed Baroness.  This 
presentation may be considered the first of the tasks listed.

The tasks to be completed are listed here in no particular order:

1) Endorsement from a current or former Landed Baroness
	The Candidate will be endorsed by a current or former Landed Baroness.  
This Baroness must agree to be a point of contact for the candidate should 
the Baroness of Loch Salann request a progress update for the candidate.

2) Fighting
	The candidate will honor the Baroness of Loch Salann for one fight during 
each of three separate tournaments.  Every effort must be made to ensure 
that the Baroness of Loch Salann has the opportunity to witness each of 
these fights.

3)Arts & Sciences
	The candidate will either enter an Arts & Sciences competition or teach a 
class during an Arts & Sciences Collegium.

4) Heraldry
	The candidate will be provided with five random arms emblazoned.  The 
candidate must identify the owner of the arms and provide a blazon for the 
arms.  The candidate shall not use any online reference which would 
explicitly provide such information.

5) General Knowledge
	The candidate will be provided with a list of questions concerning a 
variety of subjects to include, but not limited to: SCA, Artemisian and 
Medieval History, Kingdom Law and Copora.  The candidates may use any 
references available.  Other candidates for the Baroness’ Champion 
competition may NOT be used as a reference.

6) Entertainment
	The candidate will provide one piece of entertainment in the presence of 
the Baroness of Loch Salann.

7) Dance
	The candidate must be witnessed engaging in at least one period dance.  The 
sponsoring Baroness for the candidate may serve as witness for this 
requirement.

8) Gaming
	The candidate must play one period game with the Baron of Loch Salann

9) Persona Story
	The candidate will present a brief essay regarding their own Persona Story. 
  Maximum of one page.  Details should include, a Country, a time frame 
within 20 years and a non-martial profession of the persona.

10) Essay on the requirements of a Peer
	The candidate will provide a one page essay on their interpretation of the 
requirements of a peer as outlined in Corpora.
