[Artemisia] Cord Question

There is/was a program on PBS called Woodwright's Workshop that starred
Roy Underhill.  He used hand tools and man-powered tools including a
lathe he ran like people do with spinning wheels (don't know the proper
word, sorry).
Anyway, he wrote several books about using these tools to make wonderful
projects.  I would suggest checking with your local library to see if
they have any of his books.  There might be something in one of them
that tells what type of string/cord he used in the lathe.
