1) Your period lathe technique will be up against folks who are handcarving
with tiny blades using marble, gypsum, whoknowswhat. It's all tabletop
games, so someone could be making perfect spheres out of marble with a set
of tools, or painting to renaissance detail game pieces. With 15 months to
work on a project, there are many people who take the entire 15 months. I
know already of a couple people starting on their OA embroidery hoping to
have it done a year from now.
2) Indeed the board (if documented as a period style/design) would be part
of the game. Think of difficulty as the more time you put into it (see
above). Judges are usually pretty good at seeing the difference between a
weekend project and a War A&S project.

Difficulty questions:
1) What do you think on difficult given that I am
using a period lathe and tools that I have made
myself? I think I've posted enough that everybody
knows I enjoy period woodturning.
2) Chess is more than just the pieces but also include
a board. Can table top mean more than just a
simple board. Either a chest that holds the pieces
or an actual table with the board inlayed in the
table. How do you think this would affect the
difficulty?
Sorry about the questions.
Where is Kingdom A&S taking place this year?
