[Artemisia] political correctness

O lovely and gracious Belladonna, and Ysabella, and any others who really care.
I simply love debate and discussion. And I am an opinionated loudmouth. Some people actually call me obnoxious. Go figure. And you know what? I don't care about that, either. Call me a snake in the grass, if you will, but we sure livened up some people's day, didn't we.
And I have great respect for anyone that calls herself after a poisonous plant. ;-)
I look forward to our personal discussion...

Indeed we are getting along, Lady Ysabel. Padruig requested that a
oolish mortal propose an argument in response to his statements
bout the evils of political correctness. I obliged and shared my
issenting opinion. Padruig and I disagree (sort of) about what
olitical correctness is. We also disagree about some finer points,
ut we are disagreeing civilly.
I enjoyed your response Padruig and even agree with some of your
oints, but I will refrain from continuing the conversation. It's
vident that the mere possibility of conflict is making people in
his public forum uncomfortable. Perhaps we can enjoy a friendly
rgument in person some day.
I sincerely apologize to those who were uncomfortable with my words.
know I enjoy a lively debate a bit too well.
May I also plead with you to consider whether a debate has actually
escended into the realm of hostility and personal attack before
ccusing others on the list of flaming. Expressing one's opinion,
ven if it's a dissenting one, does not constitute flaming.

Alas, most dear and goodly cousins, can we not all simply "get
along"? Fair
inds blow on our keeps, the good sun smiles on our prosperity, and
life is too
hort and too good to bicker over such petty (though, given, often
annoying!)
opics. Come, let us rejoice together that we have meat and mead
(and Mtn
ew...) and merriment! There is fabric to sew, wood to hew into
delightful
hapes, scrolls to paint and calligraph, and honour and glory to be
had in
imply being ourselves! Let us delight in those things which are
good, and pass
ver those things which mundanely we are not able to change. Let us
delight in
ach other's goode companye, and hold up those ideals now to which
we aspire;
amely chivalry, courtesy, honour, and respect. Good cousins, I bid
you as fair
day as possible, and may it give you joy!

alek: But you have no weapons! No defences! No plan!
octor: (grinning) Yeah. And doesn't that scare you to death?
