I did not TAKE offense at your remark.   I felt I understood the intent behind it, and by your words, I did.   And, I am never unwilling to consider another's viewpoint (do you like the double negative there?).   I may reject it totally, but as Lord Finlay can attest, I am more than willing to look at, examine, and discuss matters with which I totally disagree, simply because I wish to understand.

However, understanding and tolerance do NOT necessarily constitute agreement, in my book.

The crossing of verbal boffers has been very enjoyable, however, and I look forward to the next time.

ever want to speak to you again. I meant simply that, if we were

Of course, I don't flatter myself that conversing with me is  
ssential to anyone's happiness; however, while reading your  
esponse, it occurred to me that my tone was probably much harsher  
han intended in that statement and so I wanted to clarify.
