In response to HE Torvald and HE Yumitori:

We do many silly things in the Laurel Kingdoms. Maestra Niccola (no
relation) from the East, taught a workshop on late 16th Century Italian
dance in Caerthe. Among other things, she taught two of the "chases"
from Caccia d'Amore (Chases of Love.) As you can imagine, the chases
are quite silly. Her last words before the music started are etched in
my brain:

"You can do silly things in silly ways, or you can do silly things in
beautiful ways."

As to the silliness of children generally - I was at most of the
Children's Court at Uprising. As a herald, I would have paid to work
before such a gathering. Fidgety, demanding, a little unruly - but they
_believed_. I spend thousands of dollars each year to get whiffs of the
silly, romantic credulity that came to me naturally as a child.

Regards,
Niccolo
