This is for any who may know Sir Gauss or his House.  Sir Gauss is the first Knight I met upon joining the SCA. His is a fine Knight, a good archer, and a good friend.  Our thoughts are with him and his Lady, Dame Brenna.

Sir Gauss Magnusson (Bob Steele) had a heart attack Tuesday, 6/19/07. Gauss was starting a new fitness walking program with a friend early that morning. They had gone about ½ mile when Gauss said he didn't feel well and had to sit down. He was sitting there for a little bit when he collapsed and fell over. Luckily his friend knew CPR and started him on that immediately. In the meantime, a cardiologist who lived on that block was walking his dog and had seen them and went to help with the CPR also, thereby allowing one of them to flag down someone to call 911. A police officer on patrol stopped, had a defibrillator in his vehicle, and they zapped him. An ambulance came by shortly and he was taken to Holy Cross and admitted into the emergency room. We were told total time from him having the attack and being taken to the hospital was roughly 20+ minutes. 

As of today, Sunday 6/24/07, Gauss is still at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring in the SICU. He is unconscious, but the staff are optimistic. Many tests have been done and Mistress Brenna of Storvik (Jerri Rostrum-Lee) will be having a meeting with all of the Doctors and staff at about 1:00 tomorrow. We will know more then. 

We ask that you keep Gauss in your thoughts and prayers.
