P.S.
Decorating seams with needle work is common in Norse garb, and so may be
common in Normandy and Anglo-Danish England.
Hiding seams in clothes with trim is well established through out all of
Europe at this time, and the embroidery on the Tapesty may be trying to
portray this as well.
