ESTRELLA WAR XXIV: Security, Youth Center & Hospitality Corp Staff Needed!!

The Event Coordinators for Estrella War XXIV (Feb 12 - 18, 2008) are seeking
volunteers and War Staff Deputies to assist in specific areas at the event.
If you are planning to attend Estrella War, and are looking for something to
do to help with the event, then read on

EARLY ARRIVAL SECURITY:  Lord Karl Terranson av Drakkar, Deputy Kingdom
Sheriff for Estrella War, is looking for security volunteers who can be
onsite Monday, Feb 11, 2008 at NOON (before the event opens).  These early
arrival volunteers must be pre-registered for Tuesday arrival at the event
AND available to work between 7:00 AM, Tues, Feb 12th and 7:00 AM, Thurs Feb
14th in one or more of the following areas:
• Roving security guard or a gate guard for AT LEAST TWO FOUR-HOUR SHIFTS 
• Shift Commander and/or Dispatchers for AT LEAST ONE SIX-HOUR
SHIFT (past experience working SCA security required)
Early Arrival Security includes the following privileges:
• Monday, Noon entrance to the site for the volunteer’s IMMEDIATE FAMILY
(this does not mean whole-household unless each person in the household is
approved for Early Arrival and scheduled to work the required volunteer
shifts).
• The option to setup a personal tent and kitchen tent if needed before
Tuesday Noon (no other tents may be put up until then).

SCA GROUPS & HOUSEHOLDS TO WORK ROVING SECURITY AT THE EVENT:  The War Staff
is looking for groups (Kingdoms, Principalities, Baronies, Shires, Colleges
and households) who wish to volunteer to work specific FOUR HOUR Security
shifts at the War. If interested in getting a good shift for your group,
please have your group coordinator contact the Deputy Kingdom Sheriff for
Estrella War (Lord Karl Terranson av Drakkar at 602-677-1575 or karl@
langskipp.com [OMIT SPACES]), or the Estrella War Volunteer Coordinators
(THL Eden Blacksmith and Mistress Meadhbh ní Dhubhthaigh at volunteer08@

ESTRELLA WAR YOUTH CENTER DEPUTIES: Lady Ilora von Neunhoff, Estrella War
Youth Center Coordinator, is seeking deputies in the following areas:
• Toddler Area
• Teen Center
• Children's Projects
• Arts & Sciences Liaison
• Youth Challenge Coordinator (includes Youth Volunteer Party & Raffle)

HOSPITALITY CORP DEPUTIES/SHIFT LEADERS: Viscountess Elaina von Mannheim,
Hospitality Corp Coordinator for Estrella War XXIV, is seeking the following
deputies:
• EMERGENCY DEPUTY:  Responsible for taking over Hospitality Point services
for the coordinator when needed. The applicant must be pre-registered for
Tuesday arrival and will be allowed early arrival onsite (before Tuesday).
• MEAL PLANNING DEPUTY:  Responsible for setting up daily menus, and
determining the needs of different departments working shifts at the event.
• SHIFT LEADERS/TEAMS:  Leaders for 3 to 4 person teams delivering food and
amenities to volunteers.  Must be an SCA member, over 18 years old, with a
valid driver’s license and auto insurance verified through the Estrella War
Motor Pool.
