Some of you may remember Sidonia from her participation in some SCA
events.  She is an amazing dancer who is incredibly knowledgeable about
dance, and its origins.  Once a year she brings in amazing dancers to
teach us.  The show is amazing, the food at the evening Hafla is
incredible.and the shopping!!!!!!  :-)  WOW!!!!  
 
Yours truly will be presenting a sword dance in the evening.  I can
hardly wait to see the featured dancer.
 
I highly recommend this!!!  The classes will be wonderful. The Debke
Social Dance class will come in handy for anyone who is trying to build
a middle eastern persona.it is a beginning class that will teach
traditional dance.

Featuring Dance Workshops with
Margo Abdo O'Dell
Margo presents two workshops to energize and delight dancers of all
levels: 
Saturday - a pop Lebanese choreography incorporating signature movements
of Nadia Gamal, the modern flair of Caracalla and Margo's own inimitable
style. (And if dancers don't recognize these names, that's another good
reason to take this workshop!) 
Sunday - debke, the national folklore dance of Lebanon. Enjoy a video
presentation of professional debke troupes from her recent trip to
Lebanon where she explored her family's roots. Margo teaches us social
debke dancing, a MUST for anyone involved in Middle Eastern dance, and
how to incorporate it into oriental routines.
MARGO ABDO O'DELL
The rhythms and dance of Margo's Lebanese heritage underpin her unique
style and repertoire that she has developed over twenty years of
training and performing Middle Eastern dance. Margo's incomparable
essence permeates each performance as she artistically combines
sophisticated dance technique with innovative interpretations of Arabic
music. Reviewers have called her "fiery, charismatic, exciting and
inspirational." Whether the piece is traditional, contemporary or
experimental, the audience is invited into the experience. There is
something unique about her performances - audiences can tell this dance
is in her blood!. 
Margo is known as a master teacher, star performer, and creative artist
in the field of Middle Eastern dance, and her work has been recognized
with grants from The Minnesota State Arts Board, The Jerome Foundation,
The McKnight Foundation, The St. Paul Travelers Foundation, The Women's
Foundation of Minnesota, and The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. She
is the director of Margo's Mid-East Dance Studies, tours extensively,
and publishes Margo's Mezza, her online newsletter, which has
subscribers throughout the world. Margo Abdo O'Dell is one of few women
of Middle Eastern descent in North America who has publicly taught and
performed Middle Eastern dance locally, regionally and nationally. Her
most recent research trips include Morocco in 2005, Lebanon in 2006,
Cambodia and Thailand in 2007.
