The Minivans were great especially when we fit the 10' spears in the bottom. Plus you have roof racks.

  My wife Hannah has a Honda Element. It has to be one of the most versatile cars out there you can seat 4.
     
     It gets 26 miles to the gallon,

  You can take the rear seats out separately if need be. 
    We have the roof rack & it can tow 1500lbs.
     
    With the seats out is is more like a van. You have the floor to ceiling to fill. & the floor is a utility plastic/vinyl so clean up is easy.
     
    In our most recent trip we went to Coronation one seat out & towing a load it did great with 3 people riding. 
     
    We have stuffed it full & trust me the way my wife packs stuffed is a understatement.(packing the kitchen sink)
     
    I am thinking of getting one for my self.
     
     
    Take all of your stuff to the dealership & fill it up I took a spear to the dealership to see if it would fit inside & I had an extra foot & it is 9 foot spear !
     
    Plus in the EX  the stereo rocks !!!!
