[Artemisia] Barons and Baronesses

Okay, I acutally went and looked this up in both Kingdom Law and Corpora (section V, if you want to look yourself).

Both specify "Baron and/or Baroness", so the rule is one of each, and the Copora section on Titles and Awards (VIII.D) specifies Baron as masculine and Baroness as feminine, so *the persona* of a Baron must be masculine/male and *the persona* of a Baroness must be feminine/female.  In my **personal opinion, not official interpretation by any means**, even though, for example, a gentleman with a very late-period French persona may be very effete, and a lady with a very early Scandinavian persona may be rather "butch", UNLESS the persona is opposingly male/female, the rules say one man and one woman.

But hey, until it actually comes up, we just don't know whether the Crown will consider them "acceptable candidates", which would be the real hurdle.

Gay couples are not allowed to serve as a landed Baron and Baroness in any kingdom that I know of. I think it's a
blanket rule in the SCA.
However, this kingdom does not require landed Barons or Baronesses to have a consort. You are correct that the
Baroness of One Thousand Eyes rules without a consort (but with a lot of support).
