This would be the "candidates must be acceptable to the Crown" part of it.  BARONESS (did I mention congratulations?) Varia, being in the position to ask it in a non-hypothetical way, can be given a definite answer.  BUT, I doubt any Crown will issue a blanket "it's fine with me", not because of any homophobia, but because there is no guarantee that the hypothetical gay couple will be acceptable for other reasons, each of which the Crown must decide for Themselves.

ok... just for the record...

i have personally asked more than one king if i had to rule as a landed baroness singularly or if i could rule with a partner (of the same sex)... i have been told by the crown in both cases... that yes i could rule with my same-sex partner...

kingdom law and copora do not forbid it as they specifically do for monarchs...

my guess is copora doesn't mention it because it is "kingdom business"
