[Artemisia] Netiquette. Yes, *again*!

Alright, folks. It's been about a month since my most recent request
that you follow proper netiquette. For the most part things are indeed
better, but there's certainly room for improvement. Two recent threads
in particular were rife with top posting. And oddly enough, both had
scores of lines of untrimmed garbage. So don't start whining again
that there's nothing wrong with top-posting. Here's an example of what
one poster had tacked on the end of their message because they didn't
bother to trim anything -

Do we *really* need to see this information quoted four times?
Especially since it was also added automatically to the end of their
message? And just remember that I'm not singling out one individual;
in order for one of the footers to be quoted four times, three other
people also failed to act courteously and did not trim anything
either. And this is just one example from one post.
I've tried on a few occasions in the last month to e-mail individuals
off-line when things were getting particularly bad. In a couple cases
I've gotten apologies, in others I've heard nothing back. Very polite,
that. This time I let it go on just to see how quickly the
over-quoting would add up. Pretty bloody fast, actually.
So here's the deal - You don't trim the message you are replying to,
your subscription will be switched to digest. If you don't knock off
the discourteous behavior, or you are already receiving the mailing
list in digest form, I may just unsubscribe your account. I'm not
going to ban anyone so you'll be able to re-subscribe, but if I make
it inconvenient enough for you perhaps you'll actually get a clue, if
only to keep me from messing with your subscription anymore.
And if you aren't doing any of these things, well then my plural 'you'
doesn't include *you*, now does it? So don't bother to flame me.
You'll just demonstrate your ignorance.
