[Artemisia] Woodworking question (Retractable legs)

I am working on a piece with small retractable legs
and I cannot find any period documentation that such a
feature existed.  Does anybody know of any period
examples of period folding legs that I might copy
rather than keep my present design.

The type of retractable legs are similar to what you
might find on a folding table.
