So I just read about 75 emails from this list and have gained only a
fraction of knowledge from all of these posts. To recap what I have learned:
1. Circlets for all...bad
2. Don't top post
3. Insurance dosen't really insure anything but confusion
4. I can leave or stay "since" it is my choice "or " so I hope
WOW, anybody got ANYTHING medieval to talk about?
You missed the fact that knights and squires or heralds (not sure which) are
for some reason similar to blind pigs and snuffle out either acorns or
truffles (we aren't sure if they know which)
and
squires will do tricks for biscuits (or so we hear)
In such a voluminous load of postings, it is important to pay attention to
the humor and often educational as well.
I, for one, am going to bring good biscuits to the next event where I am in
need of basket trundling and other small chores.
I am also going to see if I can get hold of some good truffles and perform
some experiments to see if it is possible to encourage knights and squires to
have more discerning noses or if we will have to admit that blind pigs are
superior in at least this one area.
Of course I want truffles since I am of the cooking persuasion. Those of
the scribal persuasion might prefer knights/squires/heralds/pigs? whose noses
are better tuned to the acorn and/or oak galls.
Which leads to the even more obvious questions of
1. Can squires/heralds/etc be "trained" at all, especially trained to use
their noses?
2. Can an old knight be taught new tricks?
3. Do knights have noses? (of the working variety?) if so, do they know
how to turn them off during and just after fighting? (inquiring other noses
want to know)
4. Can we think up any more silly questions concerning knights, noses,
squires, pigs, heralds, or any other grouping?
Ahhhhh, obviously had enough morphine for the day haven't I?
