ravellers pack your belongings, lash them to your camels, prepare to
caravan across the Silk Road and have an adventure. Your time of
departure is this Friday, unless you are part of the setup crew
departing on Thursday (special bennies for the setup crew). The road is
fast for about 37 miles north off the I-84 hwy Exit # 95 and, then it
curves a bit after the elevation change on your way to Pine. Make your
way through the little towns of Pine and Featherville, which have
amenities, and follow the SCA signs to our very own high steppes meadow.
Travel time from Exit #95 is approximately 1 hour. Some may arrive
quicker and those hauling trailers will need more time in the curves
just before Pine. There is a good dirt road after Featherville with a
distance of 10 miles until you reach the campground.

This peaceful meadow is surrounded by high rolling hills banked by the
perfect creek for fishing. Our campground is spacious and allows for
families and households to camp together. The improved toilet facility
is centrally located and there is trash dumpster and potable water
within walking distance. There will be a noisy camp, quite camp and a
horse camp. The horse camp is down wind.

Schedule is as such per Their Excellencies desires.
Friday:
4pm site opens
6-8pm Eq. authorizations, trail ride, fishing tournament - 1st

2pm - Fighter and archery scenarios begin
5pm - A&S Challenge closes

10:30pm - Astronomy, bardic, drumming, merriment, etc.

Sunday:
Dawn - Maybe some more bird watching... again seek out Marten.
8-10am - Baronial Fundraiser Breakfast
11am - Classes continue
3pm - Spear the Beer
5pm - Strike camp, move back to civilization.

WEATHER REPORT, Etc:
The weekend promises high 80s during the day and mid 40s during the
night. Mosquitoes are a plenty, you must bring bug repellent and
citronella candles. Just now checking this website:
http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/sawtooth/fire/restrictions.pdf
which shows we are in a Stage 1 fire restriction. This means YES to
campfires in fire rings. I'll check with the authorities tomorrow on
tiki torches. Please bring a fire extinguisher for your campsite and be
reasonable about smoking outside of your campsite.

May you journey with ease and find the beauty of the country equal to
the fond memories of your first love, full of splendor.
