A plea goes out to all of Artemisia. Your neighbors in Gryphon’s Lair are under attack! The invaders have swarmed us from the sea, with nefarious plans to move inland. Dragon ships, corsairs, privateers, buccaneers and good old-fashioned pirates threaten to loot, plunder and ravage our good lands. Prepare yourself for battles of wit and skill, and for ample enjoyment of this year’s nautical themed Quest.
The Quest will be Saturday, followed by melee until the sun goes down.
Each Questing team should consist of at least one rapier fighter, one armored combatant, one child and one lady. Teams are limited to six members over the age of 6; unlimited team members under 6 YOA.
Melee activities for our cote fighters will feature “Raiders versus Defenders” battles with various goals, including Steal the Pigs, Capture the Flag, bridge and boat battles. Melee activities for Rapier include a Barroom Brawl and ship-to-ship skirmishes. Use of Rubber Band Guns and other SCA-legal projectiles will be encouraged.
Activities will be provided for the children on Saturday and Sunday, including a Children’s Quest on Sunday morning. Parental participation is desired, encouraged and appreciated.
Sunday will be our Baronial Championship tournaments – archery, armored and rapier. The outgoing combat champions, Lord Griffon and Ibn Khan, will provide more details as the event approaches.
Site opens Friday, May 23 at 2PM and closes Monday, May 26 at noon. Cost will be $16.00 per person, $7.00 for children 5 through 15. The family cap is $40.00, NMS applies. One day site fee is $10.00 per person, $5.00 per child 5-15 YOA.
