Ooooh! Good questions! I am a woman of Anglo-Irish descent, living in the
English-controlled area around Dublin. The English king to whom I owe
allegiance is Henry, fourth of that name. He is the grandson of your king
(through the Black Prince's younger brother, John). The man currently
recognized as holding the title of Pope of the Catholic church is Gregory
XII. It is a time of great uncertainty and conflict for believers, as there
are other men in other parts of the world also claiming to be the head of
the church.
(Okay, so I had to look up the papal particulars--god bless the internet!)
