[Artemisia] Solstice Report

The winter weather has turned the hills and valleys of Artemisia as white as the salt found in its most ancient Barony and that can only mean one thing, Solstice!  Yes, the Barony of Loch Salann held its signature event this past weekend, and Their Royal Majesties traveled the many mile from their palatial residence to be in attendance.  Their Majesties open court by thanking some of the individuals who have  provided service to their reign, calling forth Viscountess Sir Leah De Spencer, Lady Jennet Moir de Brechin, and Lord Yamanouchi Eidou and awarding them with the Golden Gryphon’s Heart.  
 
Next, Lord Bjorn Hrafnsen Ohnstad came forward to hand out tassels to those in the kingdom who have achieved ranking in Archery and Thrown weapons.  While there, their majesties took the opportunity to recognize the Kingdom Archery and Thrown Weapons Champion with induction into the Order of the Gryphon and Pheon.  
 
The Honorable Lord Bohun the Black was called forward, so that their Majesties (with the assistance his Grace Timmur) could extol the virtues of his fighting prowess.   While he is a superb fighter, he managed to fail a spot check as many members of the order of chivalry (including Sir Vidar) managed to sneak up behind him without his noticing.  In an effort to improve his vigilance, their Majesties placed him on Vigil in preparation for elevation to the order of Chivalry at Gryphon’s Lair Twelfth Night.
 
After a brief intermission to allow Their Royal Highnesses and the various Baronies a chance to discuss any pertinent business, Their Royal Majesties called forward the ever Graceful and Courteous Lady Amanda De Spencer to recognize her with the Gratia et Comitas.
 
In their next order of business, their Majesties called forward the beautifully dressed Jaquelinne de Radonvilliers to discuss her many and varied artistic skills before calling forth the members of the Order of the Laurel and announcing that she will be asked “the question”™ at Gryphon’s Lair Twelfth Night. 
 
The culmination of the night’s courtly business was the Laurel elevation for The Honorable Lady Hildegardis Filia Vulframni, who vowed to “Feed into submission” all enemies of the kingdom (an easily believable task for those who know the works of Dame Hilde).
 
The newly larked Lady Zafirah autocracted a wonderful event, filled with laughter, games, music and dancing and the night was capped with a wonderful feast provided by Lord Darius.
