First of all I would like to thank everyone who put in so much time and
energy to make this past week such a memorable one. Uprising was wonderful,
be it all the classes, the competitions, or especially the dancing last
night. it was truly an amazing experience.
Now, while uprising was a wonderful experience for me, it also made me
realize a certain lack that I have. My Garb. I have yards and yards of
linen, silk, and wool that I have been meaning to make into something nice
for quite some time now. I think that the time I spent wandering around
admiring some of the lovely things the merchants had for sale, drooling at
things I could not afford, has given me the motivation to finally take my
lovely cloth, and make it into something I can actually wear. That said,
I've been hunting all afternoon for some patterns for Men's Viking garb,
between 800 and 1100 A.D. I've found plenty of articles of what it should
be made of, and the types of materials I can make my dyes out of, but the
actual cut of the garments has been very vaguely described. Can anyone help
point me in the right direction? If you have patterns, or pictures of this
kind of garb that you are willing to share, then I would absolutely
delighted. I want something more than the T-tunics that I already own.
Thank you for your time,
I appreciate any help you can give.
