You can change the colors, it just wouldn't be "proper" and so you would
have to include the colors in the blazon.  Personally I have a heraldic
panther on my arms and he is Or (yellow) with azure (blue) dots.  Hope that
helps.

with a heraldic pather does it have to be argent with muti colored rondels
or can it be any metal/color/fur and spoted somthing else?
