Returned yesterday from a family trip to Denver, and had the chance to see
the Chenggis Khan Exhibit at the Museum. Two thumbs up!!! Anyone with any
interest in Mongolian stuff (of all kinds...) would do well to see about
visiting the exhibit. It has many artifiacts from the early Empire (from
Mongolian nat'l museum) as well as many from the Yuan Dynasty (from Nat'l
Museum in Beijing) and the Golden Hoarde (from the Hermitage in St.
Petersburg).

Many recovered pieces of note include a few outfits, saddles, saber, bow,
arrows, and points, belt pieces, armor, diplomatic passports, ceramics,
transport boxes, and more! There was a decent amount of 19th c. Mongolian
artifacts as well, so if you want to take notes, be sure to note the info on
the placards.

No photography (of course), so the collection catalog ($40) is a must...
Yes, of course I got one.

More info on the exhibit: http://www.dmns.org/gk/ It runs through Feb 7.

But don't worry, I've heard that the cure is easily administered via a
delicate process involving a baseball bat...
