Greetings, all.
Mistress Jerilyn touches on some excellent points in her missive, and I
would like to take the opportunity to address them as the keeper of the
Order of Precedence for the Kingdom. Please understand that I intend this
missive to be educational, and would welcome dialogue about this,
particularly off list or in person.
I realize that it has taken longer than anticipated to get the new Order of
Precedence website up and running. Please know that I have access to the
information, and would gladly confirm anyone's awards for the purpose of
award recommendations. If you send me a private email off-list with the
information you are looking for, I will do my best to help.
I will be happy to send out information about awards that are given as I
receive it, but I can only do so once I get the information from the Royalty
or Nobility giving the awards. At this time, the system of court reporting
according to Kingdom Law requires that the Royalty submit a list of all
awards given during their reign within two months after they step down,
which does not allow for the timely dissemination of information as it
happens.
In the past when an email was sent with this information, it was done by
someone taking notes at the court, or a member of retinue, and was not a
task that was offcially designated to a specific person. I would certainly
encourage that practice to continue - it is a great service to the populace,
and serves as a record of all those things that are not listed in the Order
of Precedence that do happen in court.
I would like to thank Mistress Jerilyn for identifying a gap in the system
of reporting what takes place at events, especially in courts. I will be
working with others to address this matter so people can get the information
they need.
Sincerely,
Theodora
Wormwood Pursuivant
