What I have seen since I have been in the Kingdom for the last 2 years is a continuing problem of "what happens in Court, stays in Court." There are so many forms of communications these days that I just feel that somehow things could be working better in this area.

Speaking as a senior Herald in the Kingdom, and one who has done MANY
Courts, here is what SHOULD
be happening behind the thrones:
Herald conducts Court business for the seating Royalty/Nobility and
fills in a Court Reporting Form, listing
all OP awards that are given. Recognitions and thank-yous are done, but
not recorded unless attached to
an award.
As soon as possible after Court ends, that herald gets signatures from
the individuals who gave out the
awards on the Court Reporting Form.
The instructions at the top of the form read as follows:
BEGIN COPY
INSTRUCTIONS: Please PRINT ALL ENTRIES! The reporting herald must
complete a minimum of five (5) copies of this form. Send 1 copy each to:
Wormwood Pursuivant, Sable Plume Pursuivant, Golden Wing Principal
Herald, and the Royalty presenting the award. Retain one copy for your
local files. One copy to the local herald of each group of residence of
the award recipients is considered a good thing.
END COPY
So, having one master form, signed, and running off a few copies should
not be too big a hassle. The postage
costs should be reimbursed by the local group, if that is an issue (and
for some of us, it can be).
This procedure allows for the heralds, the scribes and the nobility to
all have the same information at about the
same time.

(If anyone needs copies of the Court Reporting Form, please contact me
privately - I have two blanks saved in
Word and am happy to share them.)
