Baron's War is almost here!!!
Instructors wanted to teach classes both Friday and Saturday.
There are no Youth Officers in either of the baronies!!! Volunteers to help with youth activities desparately wanted! Help and ideas emphatically welcomed!!!
Volunteers for set up and tear down also welcome.
Some things to remember: There is potable water and flushing toilets, there will also be portable restrooms a little closer to camping areas. Fire restrictions will be very strict due to the high fire danger created by all the dry grass that grew up in the late rain. No tiki torches allowed. Above ground fire pits are may also be banned, check back before the event. No projectile weapons are allowed in the park (this means no archery!). Horses are allowed in the park but not camping areas so use caution and be allert when traveling on trails away from the main camp area. There are not many trees so be sure to bring your own shade. The unoffical Schedule:
Site opens Thursday evening at 6:30 PM closes at 10:00 AM Sunday Morning
Opening court will be held sometime on Friday at the whim of the Baronages
Bardic Circle Friday evening
War Council Friday night at the Barons' whim
Armor inspection 10:00 AM Saturday morning
A & S competition (covered cooler challenge) should take place some time between 11 AM and Noon
Fighting will begin sometime after armor inspection and sometime before Noon
Thrown weapons tournament will be held Saturday
Court will be held Saturday evening about 6 PM
Zafirah will host a hafla with Middle Eastern yummies Saturday night after court. Everyone is invited!
All official competitions will take place on Saturday.
However, we would like to hold a Blood of Heroes battle some time on Friday if there are enough interested fighters.
There may be a period of open range time for people to practice Throw Weapons on Friday, also.
