[Artemisia] See Wondrous Items on Sale to Benefit Duke Deaton Claymore!

As recently posted, Duke Deaton Claymore, Premier of the Chivalry of
Atenveldt, has suffered a stroke, and is beginning rehabilitation to improve
speech and motor functions. But His Grace does not have health insurance,
and is not expected to be able to work for a while. Since his rehab is
currently paid out-of-pocket, he and his family are struggling to pay his
bills. With the permission of His Grace's family, an auction of donated
items is in progress to assist with some of the recovery costs.
 
The auction will ONLY be open until August 15, 2010 (you must place bids by
then), and there are some beautiful pieces and valuable services (like
making a heraldic banner) available. Please use the below link to view items

To see descriptions for a specific item, and/or current bids for the item
(bids appear in the comments below the pictures), click on the picture of
that piece. 

To place a bid on an item:

1. If you belong to Facebook, become a Fan of the "For Duke Deaton" page and
enter your bid in a comment below the picture of the item.
OR
2. If you do not belong to Facebook, send an email to cyndi4762@ aol.com
[OMIT SPACES] or mattkatie2 @cox.net [OMIT SPACES] and one of us will post a
bid for you. Or, you can ask a friend who is on Facebook to post the bid for
you.

When an item is sold, the person purchasing the item will be asked to
deposit their payment donation in a Paypal account or send a check. When
payment is made, the buyer and seller will be given each other's contact
info so they can arrange delivery. We are accepting donated items for
auction until July 31, 2010 (this Saturday)

If you don't want to participate in the auction, but wish to send funds to
His Grace, you can:

a. Send cash through PayPal by going to www.paypal.com and selecting the
PERSONAL tab. Use the SEND MONEY function to send funds to: cyndi4762@

OR
b. Go to any Wells Fargo bank and make a deposit to His Grace's donation
account (Wells Fargo account #899134480 in the name of Kelly McCray).
 
Please also feel free to send words of encouragement to His Grace at
deatonclaymore@ gmail.com [OMIT SPACES]. He is not able to easily reply to
messages, but his family is making sure he reads or gets all missives sent
to him.

The generosity of the people in the SCA when its members are in need is one
of it's greatest treasures. Please know that His Grace and his family are
incredibly moved and appreciative of the support they are receiving. Thank

give when times are hard.
