As the days grow longer, warriors begin to prepare for battle in the
shadow of the mountains. Battlemoor approaches….herein are some of the heavy
weapons tournaments you can look forward to.
Sword and Shield of Battlemoor: the victor of the tournament will be
styled the ‘Sword of Battlemoor’ and their consort the ‘Shield of Battlemoor’.
A basket hilt, suitable for combat, will be awarded to the victor and the
consort will be given a combat ready shield. The tournament will include a
brief procession where each combatant, with their consort, is introduced.
Tournament will be fought weapons of choice with the first round being
drawn by non-peers selecting a peer for the first fight. For further
information please contact Count Giovanni di Sienna at _aj at apfsbilling.com_

Pas d’Armes with multiple weapons forms. Prizes will be awarded for best
kit (personal and camp) and best heraldry as well as for chivalry and
prowess.
Unbelted Tournament with an area where Chivalry will be available for
training and pick-up fights with un-belted fighters. To the Victor go the
Spoils! To that end, Duke Maelgwn McCain is donating a helm and other prizes for
this tournament.
First Spear of Battlemoor: 6′ spear tournament based on the Roman army
position "primus pilas," the victor will carry extra glory into battle,
tournament and feast-hall for seasons to come. More than that, the victor will
carry, as a traveling prize, a new six-foot spear forged by Sir Richard of
Wolfwood.
But wait! There’s more! Each afternoon there will be melees based on
battles of the Crusades.
Thursday: The Battle of Montgisard, Siege of Jerusalem (Crusaders Invade)
and the Ascalon Woods Melee.
Friday: The Horns of Hattin, Siege of Jerusalem (Saracens Reclaim) and the
Assault on Assassins Hill.
Saturday: Richard Arrives in Outremer, Sack of Constantinople and the
Battle of Béziers.
