Just to add my two cents' worth, adopting a pet is one of the most rewarding
experiences a person can have. I am not allowed a dog where I live, but they
do allow cats. I have the three that I adopted and they do wonders to
alleviate the loneliness and boredom of living alone. If you can afford to
take care of a pet properly and are not allergic, I highly recommend getting
one. You are not ever likely to regret it.
